JMC South Africa, under the importer and distributor Salvador Caetano South Africa, today announced the formalisation of a strategic joint venture with WesBank aimed at expanding access to vehicle ownership solutions for South African consumers and businesses.
Signed at an official ceremony, the partnership will operate under the banner of JMC Financial Services and combines WesBank’s market-leading asset finance capability with JMC’s growing range of commercial and lifestyle vehicles. The collaboration will deliver an integrated, end-to-end customer journey across the expanding JMC dealer network.
Robert Gwerengwe, CEO of WesBank, commented:“We are delighted to formalise this joint venture with JMC South Africa today. At WesBank, our objective is to be a life partner throughout the entire vehicle ownership journey. By integrating our financial solutions directly into the JMC dealer network, we are simplifying the process for the customer while also providing essential floorplan support to help dealers grow their businesses.”
“As the local automotive landscape continues to evolve with high-quality, value-driven entrants, JMC is perfectly positioned to make significant inroads. Through this joint venture, we are streamlining access to mobility, ensuring that South Africans can more easily acquire the tools they need for both work and life,” he added.
From a brand and market expansion perspective, JMC South Africa continues to build strong momentum through strategic partnerships that support both dealer sustainability and customer accessibility.
Leslie Ramsoomar, Managing Director of Salvador Caetano South Africa, said:“This partnership marks an important milestone in the growth journey of JMC South Africa. As the official importer and distributor, our focus is on building a strong, sustainable dealer network while ensuring that our customers benefit from accessible, competitive and innovative mobility solutions. Collaborating with WesBank allows us to strengthen the JMC value proposition by integrating trusted financial services with a product range designed for the realities of the South African market.”
The company confirmed that its national expansion strategy is well underway, with plans to establish 40 dealerships across South Africa by the end of 2026, covering key metropolitan hubs including Gauteng, Cape Town and Durban.
Gwerengwe concluded:“We have seen firsthand how the right partnerships can unlock real opportunity. Collaborations like this expand choice and simplify the cost of ownership. We look forward to moving every step of the way with JMC and their customers as we re-imagine the future of mobility together.”
With a modernised line-up that includes the Vigus bakkie range and Carrying Plus commercial trucks, JMC is strengthening its position within South Africa’s competitive commercial vehicle segment. The brand has also confirmed that additional flagship models, including the Grand Avenue, will be introduced later this year as part of its phased product rollout.
