Following unforgettable, sold-out events in Gqeberha, Cape Town, Durban and Tshwane, the 2025 Absa RUN YOUR CITY SERIES season finale will take place in Jozi with yet another sold-out event - the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K on Wednesday 24 September 2025, National Heritage Day.

The Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K unites elite competitors and casual runners alike in a celebration of road running. With lively on-route entertainment brought to life by dedicated event sponsors, passionate crowd support, and a deep commitment to community engagement, this event promises an unforgettable experience for everyone - whether you're aiming for a new personal best (PB) or soaking up the vibrant race day atmosphere.

“We’re ecstatic that the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K has sold out more than a month before race day,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY SERIES. “This incredible demand highlights the growing popularity of both the event and the entire series. With all five events selling out in 2025, we can’t wait to come together in Jozi to celebrate the season finale in style, showcasing world-class racing and delivering an unrivalled on-route experience for every runner.”

In true Absa RUN YOUR CITY SERIES form, the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K blends world-class competition with vibrant route entertainment.

"At Absa, we are passionate about creating memorable experiences that bring communities together, and this event is a true reflection of that commitment,” says Jabulile Nsibanyoni, Head of Sponsorships at Absa. “ We’re thrilled to be bringing an engaging and entertaining atmosphere to the race in Joburg. The entertainment along the route is thoughtfully curated to celebrate the city’s rich heritage and cultural traditions, turning the race into a vibrant tribute to the capital’s spirit. Both participants and spectators can look forward to a dynamic showcase of performances that reflect the warmth, diversity, and energy that Joburg is known for."

Injecting fresh energy into the race day atmosphere, PUMA South Africa is bringing its energetic PUMA GO WILD activation to Johannesburg! Having already energized runners in Gqeberha, Cape Town, Durban, and Tshwane, the ‘City of Gold’ is next to experience the excitement this September.

“We’re excited to introduce the PUMA GO WILD activation to the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K,” says Rae Trew-Browne, PUMA Run Train Marketing Manager. “Inspired by our ‘Runner’s High’ campaign, this vibrant activation celebrates movement, motivation, and moments of pure joy. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply enjoying the race day vibes, be sure to capture the moment, tag @PUMASouthAfrica, and share your race day spirit. It’s not about speed - it’s about celebrating your own journey. We can’t wait to GO WILD with runners on National Heritage Day.”

Chery South Africa is ready to hit the streets of Johannesburg with the same drive and performance that define their vehicles.

“Our activation at the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K is designed to fuel runners with a boost of motivation when the race gets tough,” says Tony Liu, CEO of Chery South Africa. “We’re proud to support an event that celebrates endurance, community, and passion. To top it off, we’re excited to award our final Chery Tiggo 4 Pro LiT to one lucky runner, delivering a prize as thrilling as the race itself. We look forward to accelerating the energy alongside Joburg’s vibrant running community and making race day truly unforgettable.”
