CGA announces the newly elected the Board and Commissions

Central Gauteng Athletics is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its 2026 Quadrennail General Elections held on Saturday, 24 January 2026. The newly elected Board and Commissions will be expected to serve the organisation for a 4 year term.


The elections were independently conducted and overseen by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in accordance with the CGA Constitution and governance requirements. This process reaffirmed CGA’s commitment to transparency, credibility, and democratic leadership within athletics administration.


Newly Elected CGA Board

The following officials were elected to lead Central Gauteng Athletics:

  • President: Karabo Mabilo

  • Deputy President: Lethabo Mashigo

  • Track and Field Chairperson: Maggie Dicks

  • Cross Country Chairperson: Val Brentano

  • Road Running Chairperson: Cindy Nkomo

  • Athletes’ Chairperson: Tiyani Khoza

Additional Board Members:

  • Dirk van Zyl

  • Queen Mofokeng

  • Llale Seema

  • Alain Achter


CGA Commissions

To support the work of the Board and strengthen the governance and development of athletics across all disciplines, CGA confirmed the appointment of the following Commissions:


Road Running Commission

  • Deputy Chairperson: Mehlo Hlabangane

Additional Members:

  • Lucas Mongatane

  • Mishack Ndlovu

  • Johannes Mashigo


Track and Field Commission

  • Deputy Chairperson : Stone Ntheleng Mosime

Additional Members:

  • Connie Tsiu

  • Patsy Ramogale

  • Yvonne Whiting



Athletes’ Commission

  • Deputy Chairperson : Lebogang Phalula

Additional Members:

  • Mpho Mabuza

  • Tolamo Maubane

Cross Country Commission

  • Deputy Chairperson : Dithapelo Tumane

CGA President Karabo Mabilo expressed appreciation for the confidence shown by clubs in the newly elected leadership, noting that the Board and Commissions comprise a diverse and experienced group with a strong commitment to strengthening governance, supporting clubs and athletes, and growing athletics across the province.


Central Gauteng Athletics extends its gratitude to the IEC, club delegates, and all other stakeholders for their participation in the elctions and continued support for CGA.
